Cloisonné is a hollow metal bead with delicate thin wire strips soldered onto the bead surface to create a design.  The remaining open areas, which usually are flower shapes, are then filled with various colors of enamel, creating a truly unique and beautiful bead. 
These beads are machine made. However, I designed and created the earring with coiled wire and a small pink crystal.
